Hidden Spitalfields, Immigration over the centuries by appointment (Groups of 8 or more only!)

Walk with Jack the Ripper-Walks around one of the oldest and one of the most interesting areas in London. Spitalfield lay just outside the walls of the original City of London dating back to Roman times. In Spitalfield only a few years ago a Roman woman beautifully decorated coffin was discovered! Nearby you can see what remains of a charnel- house where they used to store human bones when the cemetery became full.

Spitalfield that has welcomed immigration over the centuries, the Huguenots, the Jews and many others came to this area and settled. Hear the history of this area today dominated by Spitalfield Market, originally started in the 17th century after the Great Fire of London, today a wonderful market operating during the week but the main day Sunday when you have a great collection of clothes antiques, arts and crafts, food for sale wander the market after your walk and sample some of the tasty food!
